Employing Old World craftsmanship in Metal Spinning, Frank J. Stolitzka
& Son, Inc., has built a reputation for excellence in intricate
metal fabrication.
Headquartered in Akron, Ohio, since 1927, Stolitzka has specialized
in Metal Spinning, the chipless technique for production of cylindrical,
hollow components without materially changing the original metal thickness.
Due to its versatility, metal spinning is best utilized for limited
production of intricate components and prototypes. Utilizing mandrels
made of wood or steel, the contour of a metal blank is changed by spinning
on a specialized machine to form the finished product.
Metal Spinning is ideal for those complex shapes that are impractical
to fabricate by the stamping or deep drawn process. Spinning products
are formed from a wide range of metals, including carbon and stainless
steels, aluminum, brass, nickel and copper.
Stolitzka's Metal Spinning capabilities are more advantageous than formed,
stamped or drawn parts for low volume. Also with limited production
runs and where a diversity of shapes with varied contours is a prerequisite,
the spinning craft reduces expensive tooling and lowers overall product
costs as shown in these actual comparisons below.
